Recognising the need for better clinical knowledge management, Aridhia’s Ontology Service provides project stakeholders with a web-based search engine covering a range of controlled vocabularies and ontologies, and a programming interface (API) that can be used directly during ETL workflows and application look-ups.
With many of the ontologies automatically updated on a weekly basis, the Ontology Service helps save valuable time for analysts or operational system management, and reduces the cost of loading, managing and maintaining versions of standard health and research vocabularies.
Our new add-on data services can help to get your project underway quickly and easily. These services are offered as add-ons to your existing AnalytiXagility subscription, making it easy to customise your existing subscription and tailor your workspace for a small additional fee on top of your base investment.
Users can search efficiently across all sources and terminologies, or filter for a single ontology, removing the need to use multiple single-purpose systems. Understanding the need to process legacy data, the Ontology Service has been designed to support older versions of ontologies, and all codes can be versioned to a specific publication point where required.
The service also supports cross-referencing and cross-walking, allowing users to navigate hierarchies within terminologies, and cross-walk mappings between ontologies to reconcile and harmonise data from multiple sources, all while retaining the meaning of the original mapping.
Users can also build up a custom list from multiple searches or cross-walks, retaining strong provenance of terms and source. The service can then export lists as an Excel spreadsheet for use with other applications.
All relationships between concepts and terms are strongly typed, retaining provenance (who defined the mapping and how) and supporting the traceability of transformations in data across a project lifecycle.
