Our AnalytiXagility platform is built on cutting-edge technologies and this role offers the exciting opportunity to join a talented and dedicated top flight technical team and to develop and enhance your experience and skills whilst contributing to the delivery of our client roadmap and key strategic projects.

The Product Delivery team designs and works to turn ideas into reality, driving the development and configuration of the Aridhia platform and services. By constantly reviewing, evaluating and upgrading what they design and build, they ensure that our platform and products remain at the cutting-edge.

In addition to general development duties, the Platform Developer requires a strong skill set and proactive approach to putting forward ideas and solutions during technical design discussions, and should actively seek out ways that Aridhia could improve as company in terms of their product delivery capability and processes. A willingness to learn is a must, as we use a variety of open source tools and technologies to find interesting and unique solutions to deliver on our Software as a Service platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within multidisciplinary teams in an agile environment to understand client requirements, then design and develop quality applications to meet their needs.
  • Contribute to the definition and design of Aridhia’s information and software architecture and automation frameworks.
  • Unit and integration testing of developed software components.
  • Document and socialise solutions.
  • Participate in cross-team ideas and initiatives to promote technical knowledge transfe.r
  • Participate in the evolution of company-level best practices, standards and policies as they relate to software development.

Qualification/ skills required:

Essential:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in computer science, software engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience of modern programming languages and methodologies such as Ruby, Ruby on Rails & JavaScript, preferably within a UNIX/Linux environment – with some hands-on development experience.
  • Ability to contribute technically across all tiers of Aridhia’s platform services, in particular both web technologies and back-end platform.
  • Understanding of general SQL database development.
  • Understanding of best practice coding standards.
  • Show appreciation of all aspects of the software development lifecycle (e.g. requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation).
  • Shows appetite and aptitude to be involved in solving complex technical challenges and furthering knowledge and experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience of the use of agile methods particularly Scrum.
  • Experience of the source control process using tools such as Git or SVN.
  • Working knowledge of a development tool such as RubyMine, Eclipse or Microsoft Development Studio.
  • Understanding of internet and communication protocols, e.g. REST.
  • Awareness of big data.

Lisa has a range of HR experience gained in high-growth, Scottish technology companies including Wolfson Microelectronics, Axios Systems, and Sumerian Europe prior to working with Aridhia Informatics in 2010. Lisa is also Director for Scotland of Startup Grind, a networking organisation for entrepreneurs, and is a 2014/15 Saltire Fellow with Entrepreneurial Scotland. She has recently returned from a programme of accelerated MBA programme studies at Babson College in Boston USA and is Founder of Purpose, a niche HR/Management growth consultancy to early stage and investor backed businesses.
