Product Manager

If you are a technical Product Manager, who can integrate complex requirements from a collaborative, data-driven research community into successful service, this could be the ideal role for you!

As a key member of the Aridhia team you will be responsible for managing requirements for one of Aridhia products and services. The Product Manager will work closely with our clients, partners, delivery, and enablement teams to guide Aridhia’s products from conception to service launch. As part of the Product team, you’ll bridge the technical, business and service worlds as you design services that our customers require.

Every product needs a champion who can integrate conflicting requirements into a successful service that many users benefit from and enjoy using. A Product Manager is ideally placed to take that role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Accountable for the current and future roadmap of a component product of Aridhia’s Digital Research Environment platform and services
  • Reports to and works day-to-day with the CTO or a senior product manager to align product management to company strategy
  • Works day-to-day with the delivery team (development, QC, operations) in an Agile product owner role
  • Implements an outreach programme to ensure end-user feedback is incorporated in the roadmap
  • Keeps up to date with Aridhia’s market and competition as well as environment, technology and security changes that could impact or improve the product
  • Participates in the Aridhia security review board
  • One or more products, designing the service provided, defining features. Working in software engineering teams, they deliver regular releases to customers
  • Maintenance and timely completeness of the product roadmap documentation including managing online services such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Making good decisions on service features
  • Triage of inbound issues from inside or outside the organisation
  • Ensuring the delivery team understands requirements and implements what the company requires and customers expect
  • Attending development stand ups other delivery meetings such as retrospectives and demos
  • Demonstrating the software to customers and potential customers
  • As required, work on specific customer bids and tenders
  • Driving the adoption of a DevOps and other efficiencies in the service deliver model
  • Communicating with a wider public about the Aridhia platform and roadmap including participating at conferences, writing blog posts and other social media
  • Developing mock-ups and prototypes of new features

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start time: between 08:00 and 10:00
  • Finish time: between 16:00 and 18:30

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • Leadership skills with a strong personal definition of product owner role, tasks, and responsibilities
  • A proven ability to capture and rationalise diverse customer and end user requirements, including their aspirations and goals, with the ability to be an effective advocate
  • Understanding of cloud-based business models including SaaS and PaaS
  • Ability to estimate effort, cost, and value of feature development within an R&D budget and negotiate resource for delivery
  • Ability to negotiate and maintain partner and supplier relationships
  • A track record of delivering web-based products and services ideally in a field related to biomedical research and analytics
  • Deep knowledge of technical aspects of product development to ensure competitive advantage and effective delivery
  • Demonstrable understanding of business models and operational environments to make good day-to-day decisions

Desirable Qualifications/Skills

  • Understanding of information governance, privacy and security related to personal data and the use of cloud services, with the ability to communicate this to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of technical components of cloud platforms including Azure
  • Understanding of the biomedical research and analytics market and its long-term trends including healthcare, academic and pharmaceutical environments, with the ability to communicate this to stakeholders
  • Informatics and information architecture
  • Taken a new product to market
  • User experience (UX) design and documentation
  • Software architecture and design and documentation
  • Project management or security qualifications
  • Previous experience of managing agile software engineering teams

    Alison Alexander

    Alison joined Aridhia in 2019 as Office Manager before progressing to HR Manager in 2020. With a background in recruitment she brings experience in resourcing, talent attraction and selection. She now manages Aridhia's HR and is responsible for coordinating Aridhia’s internal recruitment.
