SATRE 2026: Supporting Services

Standardised Architecture for Trusted Research Environments (SATRE) is a DARE UK driver project to support the development of a secure reference architecture for Trusted Research Environments (TRE), allowing research teams to benchmark their own TRE against an open specification.

Aridhia was an early adopter of the specification, and the first commercial TRE provider to score itself against it in 2024, and we rescored our platform in 2025. This blog series details our rescore for 2026, covering each section of SATRE in turn.

In this blog we cover our score for the Supporting Services section of SATRE.

What are Supporting Services in SATRE?

Supporting Services collates all of the non-technical services required to support a TRE not covered by the preceding three sections. Including project management and business continuity planning, to ongoing operational support for software and infrastructure, and access to legal advice regarding data protection and contracts related to TRE provision.

2025 Data Management Score

In 2025 we scored the DRE at 30 out of 30 for this section, and provided the following reasons for this score:

  • Each Aridhia customer has their own dedicated project manager.
  • All Aridhia DRE users have the support of a full-time service desk team.
  • The Aridhia DRE is backed by a comprehensive business continuity plan which is tested multiple times per year.
  • All customers can be provided with a full breakdown of the costs for running their projects in the Aridhia DRE.

What has changed in 2026?

There is no update to our Supporting Services score for 2026, we continue to provide our customers with dedicated project management support, and a full-time service desk. We remain committed to providing our customers with a transparent of their costs and strive to provide our services as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.
